I'm Glad You're Here
My goals are to help you explore your emotional distress, learn strategies to cope with and manage symptoms, and create lasting feelings of mental well-being. Together, we will help you overcome the obstacles that prevent you from achieving your potential and living the life you deserve. We will find out what is holding you back. By listening to you, empathizing with your issues and using appropriate therapy approaches, I will help you find your inner balance and infuse new energy into your life.
How I Can Help You
With over 36 years as a seasoned clinical psychologist, I offer a relaxed, laid-back style that produces real results using a nonjudgmental and caring atmosphere. I provide solution-oriented cognitive behavioral therapy, with useful feedback that addresses issues important to you. This includes help with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, intimacy issues, stress management, grief/loss, codependency, self-esteem and life transitions. Whatever your needs, you will leave our sessions really feeling "understood".
Maternal Mental Health
Becoming a parent can be a
challenging pursuit.
It's supposed to be the happiest time in a woman’s life. Instead, it can be one of the most stressful and anxiety-producing experiences a woman will ever have.
You may be struggling to conceive, or face depression and fear as you bring a tiny human into the world. Perhaps you are grieving the loss of a pregnancy or suffered a traumatic birth experience that weighs heavily on you. Maybe you feel like you don’t know what you are doing and can’t recognize the person in the mirror anymore.
Although you might feel as if you are free-falling and losing yourself in the midst of it all, you have the power to rediscover your identity and heal.
Therapy for Teens
Adolescence is a time
of discovery.
We are exposed to many new experiences to explore and find ourselves. And we go through significant biological and psychological changes that can be scary and thrilling.
It’s also a time that may be marked by stress, confusion, and uncertainty. Balancing tight schedules, homework, and extracurricular activities with college preparation and the constant need to fit in can be quite overwhelming. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and social problems are just a few of the challenges your teenager may face as they enter this stage.
It can be a very lonely and frustrating period for you and your teen. But it is also the perfect opportunity to uncover healing and growth.
Therapy for Adults
As poet John Donne wrote,
“No man is an island.”
You may be trying to do it all, aiming to balance your career ambitions with quality time with your family. You might experience loss, heartbreak, stress, anxiety, and many other difficulties. And it can all be exhausting.
But it is during those trying times that you can benefit the most from reaching out to others.
Asking for help is challenging, but so is being alone when you are vulnerable or stretching yourself thin. You may be able to find solutions by yourself, but these might not last or be as effective as you’d hope.
Stepping outside your island to seek professional support and build strong connections can help you achieve sustained wellness.
